Job Summary:
PIC Group has an opportunity for an experienced Site Project Manager to oversee the installation of a CO2 pipeline in Beulah, ND. As a Site Project Manager, your role would involve overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of the pipeline project and will require your expertise in pipeline engineering, project management, and quality control to manage the installation process and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. The Site Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geologists, environmental engineers, and engineers, to plan and implement the CO2 pipeline installation. The Site Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the project to ensure the successful planning, execution, and completion of the pipeline while adhering to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing a comprehensive project plan, including defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements. This would involve use of feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, and identifying potential risks and mitigation.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and timeline.
  • Engage and communicate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, landowners, local communities, environmental organizations, and project team members.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and permits is crucial. You would need to coordinate with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals and ensure that the project adheres to safety and environmental standards.
  • Managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and optimizing resource allocation is an important aspect of your role. You would need to develop cost estimates, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality and schedule.
  • Coordinating and managing various contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers involved in the project is vital. This includes overseeing the bidding process, contract negotiations, and ensuring that contractors perform their work in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
  • Responsible for health and safety, prioritizing the health and safety of project personnel and the surrounding environment is crucial.
  • Review detailed installation plans, including design specifications, construction methodologies, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor construction activities to identify and resolve any emerging risks or issues promptly.
  • Apply your expertise in pipeline engineering to review and approve design drawings, technical documents, and specifications.
  • Provide guidance on construction techniques, materials selection, and installation procedures to ensure compliance with industry best practices.
  • Resolve technical queries and challenges encountered during the installation process.
  • Implement quality control plans to ensure the integrity and reliability of the CO2 pipeline.
  • Conduct inspections and audits throughout the installation process to identify and rectify any non-compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with third-party inspection agencies to verify adherence to industry standards and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of installation activities, including progress reports, site documentation, and as-built drawings.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to update project stakeholders on the installation progress, challenges, and resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and assist in obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
  • Upon project completion, you would oversee the closure activities, including documentation, final inspections, handover to the operations team, and conducting a post-project review to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
Job Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to pipeline installation.
  • Proficiency in pipeline design software and engineering tools.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Provide leadership of project team and foster a collaborative and productive work environment. You would need to assign tasks, provide guidance, resolve conflicts, and ensure effective communication within the team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations applicable to pipeline installations.
  • Knowledge of all regulatory requirements
  • Building positive relationships and addressing any concerns or issues would be essential.
Physical Requirements:
  • Duties require walking, standing for extended periods of time, crawling, stooping, sitting, climbing vertical and inclined ladders and stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs. Exposure to extreme heat and cold.
  • The frequent use of protective equipment (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, etc.) may be required.
Education / Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field is a requirement.
  • Experience with 2 to 3 large pipeline projects from start to finish is a requirement.
